Faith in Action: A Community Transformed Through Living Water

Published on April 9, 2026

Across Bangladesh, churches engaged in the Holistic Transformation Movement (HTM) are discovering that when Scripture is lived out in community, transformation follows, both spiritually and practically. One such story comes from a local church within the Bangladesh Baptist Church Fellowship, where the Church and Community Process (CPCT) has become a catalyst for change.

Through regular Bible Study Group gatherings, members were encouraged not only to grow in their faith but also to reflect on the real challenges faced by their community. One issue stood out clearly: the lack of access to safe and clean water. Families had long depended on distant and unsafe sources, placing a heavy burden especially on women and children, and exposing the community to health risks.

As the group reflected on God’s call to love and serve their neighbours, they recognised that faith required action. Together, they decided to pursue a sustainable solution. With encouragement from the group, the church approached local authorities and advocated for support. Through persistence the request was heard and a deep tube well was installed with government support.

Today, clean water is accessible not only to church members but to the entire community. What was once a daily struggle has now become a shared blessing, improving health, restoring dignity, and strengthening relationships.

“Through the Bible Study Group, we learned that God calls us to respond to real needs. This has been our faith in action.”

This story is a powerful reflection of holistic transformation in practice where the local church listens, discerns, and acts alongside the community. It is a reminder that transformation begins when faith moves beyond words into action, and when the Church becomes a visible expression of God’s love in everyday life.
